Maybe we should be Dancing

Maybe we should be dancing,
Not waiting for a better song.
We could find we’re at the ending,
Before perfection comes along.

Maybe we should be dancing,
From opening to close.
From the first song to the last,
For its duration: Nobody knows.

Maybe we should be dancing,
Long before that crescendo verse.
The build up to that moment,
Is still beautiful at its worst.

Maybe we should be dancing,
To every act along the way.
To every verse in every song;
Celebrate the entire play.

And when we greet the final curtain,
Having danced to every song.
Let’s leave the audience resounding;
“Maybe we should have danced along”.
